Description
The story of Aladdin may be familiar to students from the Disney movie, but the original story has several differences to compare/contrast. This readers’ theater script is adapted from the version by The Brothers Grimm. The script has 9 speaking parts.

Graphic organizers are included to compare/contrast with another text or the Disney movie and to identify the conflict/problem/solution.
Readers theater motivates and engages readers. Used for fluency instruction, it is a proven research-based reading strategy (best practices) that provides a context for authentic reading and re-reading. Great for centers or small groups and to include in sub packets! For added fun, copy, cut out, and let students make headbands to wear with the character pictures by stapling them onto construction paper bands.
Students become excited about reading with readers’ theater. Help your students develop fluency by allowing multiple readings of the script. Encourage them to use expressiveness, intonation, and inflection when rehearsing the text. Readers’ theater provides an authentic reason for rereading – performing for an audience!
